Quick answer

A Wegovy tracker app records your weekly semaglutide shots, the dose you're on and where you injected, and reminds you on shot day. Mingo also logs side effects on a 0 to 10 scale, meals by photo or voice, and your weight, so you can see how each dose step affects you and bring a PDF report to your prescriber.

How Mingo tracks your Wegovy week

  • A reminder on shot day

Mingo reminds you on your Wegovy day at the time you choose, can give you a heads-up beforehand, and nudges you two hours later if the shot isn't logged.

  • Every dose step on one timeline

Log each shot with its dose, from 0.25 mg to your maintenance dose. The weight chart colors each stretch by the dose you were on, so a plateau or a drop lines up with a dose change.

  • Where you injected last

Pick the spot on a body map of 12 sites across the stomach, thighs and upper arms. With side alternation on, Mingo suggests the opposite side of your last shot.

  • An estimate of your medication level

Mingo draws an estimated curve from the doses you log and semaglutide's half-life of about one week. It shows patterns; it is not a blood test.

  • Side effects with a severity

Rate nausea, constipation, fatigue and 15 other symptoms from 0 to 10, add your own, and see each one charted against your medication level.

  • Meals, protein and water

Log meals by photo, voice, text or barcode, and follow daily protein, fiber and water targets you can adjust with your care team.

  • Weight and progress photos

Log your weight, body measurements and progress photos, and compare before-and-after pictures side by side.

  • A report for your appointment

Export a PDF with your doses, estimated levels, weight, food and side effects for the period you choose.

Half-life
About 1 week. Semaglutide stays in the body for about 5 to 7 weeks after the last dose.

How is Wegovy started and increased?

Wegovy starts low and goes up every four weeks, so the stomach has time to adjust. The prescribing information sets the same steps for adults and for children 12 and older:

Weeks Weekly dose
1 to 4 0.25 mg
5 to 8 0.5 mg
9 to 12 1 mg
13 to 16 1.7 mg
17 onward 1.7 mg or 2.4 mg

If a step isn’t tolerated, the label says your prescriber can consider waiting another four weeks before the next increase. Since March 2026 the US label also includes a 7.2 mg dose, sold as Wegovy HD, for adults who have taken 2.4 mg for at least four weeks and need more weight reduction (FDA approval letter).

What the trials found is an average, not a promise. In STEP 1, adults without diabetes taking 2.4 mg lost 14.9% of their body weight on average after 68 weeks, against 2.4% on placebo (Wilding et al., NEJM 2021). In the trial behind the 7.2 mg dose, the average was 18.8% after 72 weeks, against 15.5% on 2.4 mg and 3.9% on placebo (Wegovy prescribing information). Logging each step in Mingo lets you see your own curve, with each stretch of the weight chart colored by the dose you were on.

What should you log on a Wegovy shot day?

A few seconds of logging on shot day, and a minute in the days after, give your prescriber something concrete to work with:

  • The dose and the site. Write down the dose and where you injected. The label says to inject in the abdomen, thigh or upper arm, on the same day each week, at any time of day, and to rotate the site with each dose. Mingo pre-fills the opposite side of your last shot if you turn on side alternation.
  • How you feel over the next few days. Digestive side effects are the most common, so a quick 0 to 10 rating of nausea or constipation each day shows whether they follow your shot day or a dose increase.
  • Water. The Wegovy label warns about acute kidney injury in people who lose fluids through vomiting or diarrhea. Cleveland Clinic suggests sipping water through the day, because eating less can mean drinking less too (Cleveland Clinic).
  • Protein. With a smaller appetite, protein is easy to miss. Mingo shows a daily protein target you can adjust with your dietitian or prescriber.

Which Wegovy side effects are worth writing down?

In the weight-loss trials of the 2.4 mg dose, these were the most common side effects, compared with placebo (Wegovy prescribing information, adverse reactions table):

Side effect Wegovy 2.4 mg Placebo
Nausea 44% 16%
Diarrhea 30% 16%
Vomiting 24% 6%
Constipation 24% 11%
Abdominal pain 20% 10%
Headache 14% 10%
Fatigue 11% 5%

In those trials, 6.8% of people on Wegovy stopped because of side effects, against 3.2% on placebo. The label also carries a boxed warning: semaglutide caused thyroid C-cell tumors in rodents, it isn’t known whether it does in humans, and Wegovy must not be used by people with a personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma or with MEN 2. For the warning signs that need a call to your prescriber, read our guide to GLP-1 side effects.

For the full list by dose, the warnings and when to call your prescriber, see our Wegovy side effects guide.

What if you miss a Wegovy dose?

The label’s rule depends on how close your next dose is. If it’s more than two days away, take the missed dose as soon as possible. If it’s less than two days away, skip it and take the next one on your usual day. If you miss two or more doses in a row, your prescriber restarts the escalation at a lower dose, because going straight back to a high dose can bring the digestive side effects back.

Mingo’s part is the reminder: if a planned dose isn’t logged, it nudges you two hours later. What to do next comes from the label and your prescriber, not from the app.

Wegovy shot or Wegovy pill?

Since December 22, 2025, Wegovy also comes as a daily tablet for weight reduction. It starts at 1.5 mg and moves to 4 mg, 9 mg and then 25 mg, 30 days at each step. It’s taken in the morning on an empty stomach with up to 4 ounces of water, and you wait at least 30 minutes before eating, drinking or taking other medicines. In its main trial, people on 25 mg lost 13.6% of their body weight on average after 64 weeks, against 2.4% on placebo (Wegovy prescribing information; the published paper reports 2.2% for placebo, Wharton et al., NEJM 2025).

Mingo logs the pill under its pill list, and the reminder can be set to every day. Our Wegovy pill guide covers how it differs from the shot.

What Mingo doesn’t do

Mingo is a tracker. It doesn’t prescribe, set or change your dose, and it has no titration plan of its own: the steps above come from the label and your prescriber. The medication-level curve is calculated from the doses you log, not measured in your blood. If something feels wrong, call your prescriber rather than waiting for a pattern in the app.

Frequently asked questions

Is there an app to track Wegovy shots?

Yes. Mingo logs each Wegovy injection with its dose, injection site and notes, reminds you on shot day and shows your history on a timeline with your weight, meals and side effects. It works on iPhone, and on Android where Google Play offers it.

Can Mingo remind me to take Wegovy?

Yes. You set your shot day and time, and Mingo sends a reminder then. You can add a heads-up from 30 minutes to a day before, and Mingo nudges you two hours later if the dose isn't logged.

Can I log the Wegovy pill or the 7.2 mg dose?

Yes. The Wegovy pill is in Mingo's pill list, and you can set its reminder to every day. Doses that aren't in the quick list, such as 7.2 mg, can be entered as a custom dose in mg.

Does Mingo tell me what Wegovy dose to take?

No. Your prescriber sets your dose and when to increase it, following the prescribing information. Mingo records what you took and how you felt so you can discuss it at your appointment.

How much does Mingo cost?

Mingo is free to download. Logging new entries needs a Mingo Pro subscription after your first ones; reminders, the medication-level chart and the PDF report don't.

Where is my Wegovy data stored?

There's no account to create. Your log is stored on your phone, and you can export it as a backup file. Meal photos, voice notes and descriptions are sent to Mingo's server to estimate their nutrients.
